Well, globally crypto is in a bear market and it won't end until October. Locally it might bounce to 70k, but that doesn't change anything. Then it will go down below 50k.

I really don't like when someone says that the market will definitely go only in one direction. Usually after such confidence surprises begin. But that's why I watch your videos. At least you don't try to please everyone and don't change your opinion every couple of days. Even if the scenario doesn't play out 100% in the end, it's always interesting to understand the logic of why you take this particular position. Personally, I've already reduced some positions and am just watching. August could really be a very fun month, so let's see who turns out to be right in the end.
AT
😐
In July first grew then fell, in August probably will be the opposite, first we will fall then grow )) analytics level god, don't stop, keep bombing ))
AT
😐
A decline in August is indeed likely, but the bottom should be set in October, if we follow the 4-year cycles, also the bottom was set after a strong, sharp, final decline. Here they will hold us longer so that everyone finally checks that the bottom is set, starts buying, and they will give a sharp blow to the market to wipe everyone out.

What isEthereum

Overview
Consensus
Ethash
Launched
Jul 2015
Origin

It is a general-purpose public blockchain platform launched on July 30, 2015, with its native asset Ether (ETH). ETH serves as "fuel" for executing transactions and smart contracts, acts as collateral in the proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, and is partially burned according to EIP-1559 rules, counteracting issuance. The network became the foundation for decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), and tokenization of real-world assets. Unlike Bitcoin, which primarily functions as a store of value, Ethereum represents a global decentralized virtual computer (EVM), allowing developers to create and deploy scalable applications.

Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, but its primary purpose is not as a means of payment, but as a settlement layer for decentralized applications. A key difference from Solana is its rollup-centric approach: the main network (L1) is optimized for high security and finality, while mass transactions are executed on layer-2 solutions (L2) - Arbitrum, Optimism, Base - which use Ethereum for settlement and data availability. Compared to BNB Chain or Avalanche C-Chain, Ethereum offers a more mature ecosystem, client diversity, and greater staking decentralization.

What Makes It Unique

  • The transition from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake in September 2022 (The Merge), which reduced energy consumption by 99.9%.
  • The base fee burning mechanism (EIP-1559), which can make net issuance negative during periods of high activity.
  • Modular design: data for L2 is moved into separate "blobs" (EIP-4844), drastically reducing fees.
  • Active governance through the Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIP) system and regular hard forks.

Features of Ethereum

Technical Information

Consensus is implemented via the Gasper mechanism (Casper FFG finality + LMD-GHOST fork choice). Slots last 12 seconds, with 32 slots forming an epoch (~6.4 minutes). Finality is typically reached after two justified epochs. The execution environment is the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine), supporting type 2 transactions (EIP-1559). After the Dencun upgrade (March 13, 2024), a separate space for "blobs" was introduced - temporary data availability for rollups, reducing their publication costs.

Major hard forks:
- July 30, 2015 - Frontier (genesis block).
- March 14, 2016 - Homestead (block 1,150,000).
- July 20, 2016 - Fork after The DAO hack (resulting in Ethereum Classic).
- October 2016 - Tangerine Whistle / Spurious Dragon (DoS protection).
- October 16, 2017 - Byzantium; February 28, 2019 - Constantinople/St. Petersburg (delayed due to EIP-1283 vulnerability).
- December 7-8, 2019 - Istanbul (block 9,069,000).
- August 5, 2021 - London (block 12,965,000) - EIP-1559.
- September 6-15, 2022 - The Merge (transition to PoS).
- April 12, 2023 - Shapella (Shanghai+Capella) - validator withdrawals activated.
- March 13, 2024 - Dencun (EIP-4844, EIP-1153, EIP-4788, EIP-5656).
- May 7, 2025 - Pectra (11 EIPs, including EIP-7251 - max validator balance increased from 32 to 2048 ETH, EIP-7702 - account abstraction, EIP-7691 - blob target raised to 6 per block).
- December 3, 2025 - Fusaka (PeerDAS via EIP-7594).
- Subsequent BPO forks in December 2025 and January 2026 increased blob throughput.
- The planned Glamsterdam upgrade for June 2026 was postponed to Q3 2026 - it is expected to introduce Verkle Trees and single-slot finality.

The target gas per block (under EIP-1559) was historically 15 million, with a limit of 30 million. In 2025-2026, the community raised the limit: documentation for builders in 2026 mentions 60 million as the new baseline. Concurrently, blob throughput is being scaled via PeerDAS.

Tokenomics

The maximum supply of ETH is not capped. Issuance comes exclusively from validator rewards after the transition to PoS. Before the transition, annual issuance was about 4.6% (4.09% mining + 0.52% staking on Beacon Chain); afterwards, it is significantly lower. The burning of base fees under EIP-1559 can exceed issuance during periods of high network activity, making the net supply deflationary.

Launching a validator requires 32 ETH, with the Beacon Chain deposit contract at: 0x00000000219ab540356cBB839Cbe05303d7705Fa. Rewards are distributed every epoch and include priority fees and MEV. Withdrawals became possible after Shapella (April 12, 2023). Staking is the only way to earn issuance income; there are no lock-ups or vesting periods for ICO participants (except for a 12-month vesting for founders, as specified in the sale terms).

Initial distribution: a crowdsale in 2014 (July 22 - September 2), selling approximately 60 million ETH at an average price of ~$0.31, raising roughly $18.4-$18.66 million. No venture rounds for the protocol itself are recorded - development is funded through Ethereum Foundation grants.

Security ETH

The protocol has undergone several independent audits: Least Authority audit of Beacon Chain specifications (March 6, 2020), Trail of Bits audit of the Prysm consensus client (October 6, 2020), Quantstamp certification of Prysm (May 10, 2021), Runtime Verification formal verification of Casper FFG. A continuous bug bounty program from the Ethereum Foundation, with rewards temporarily doubled before Shapella.

Known incidents:
- The DAO hack (June 2016) → hard fork on July 20, 2016, splitting off Ethereum Classic.
- DoS attacks in 2016 → Tangerine Whistle and Spurious Dragon forks with adjusted operation costs.
- Vulnerability in the Parity multisig library: July 2017 - theft of ~153k ETH, November 2017 - accidental self-destruction of the library, freezing ~513,774 ETH in 587 wallets (dApp-level errors, not protocol).
- Infura outage (November 11, 2020) due to a consensus bug in an old Geth version; providers updated.
- Consensus bug in Geth (August 27, 2021) → temporary chain split; fixed in v1.10.8.
- Beacon Chain finality delays (May 11-12, 2023) for 3 and 8 epochs due to consensus client stress; Prysm and Teku released fixes, user funds were not affected.
- Constantinople delay in January 2019 after identifying a reentrancy risk in EIP-1283 (ChainSecurity).
- Inclusion of Tornado Cash mixer addresses in the OFAC sanctions list (August 8, 2022) → RPC providers and stablecoin issuers froze interactions with these addresses.

Where to Trade

CEX exchanges: Binance, Gate.

ETH is traded on all major centralized exchanges: Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitfinex, OKX and others, often serving as a base currency alongside Bitcoin and stablecoins. On decentralized exchanges, ETH is the primary routing asset, with the largest volume on Uniswap, Curve, and Balancer. The asset is deeply integrated into cross-chain bridges and L2 sequencers, requiring liquidity on platforms like Arbitrum, Optimism, and Base. The all-time high was reached in August 2025, surpassing the November 2021 peak.

Investors and Funds

The primary source of funding was the 2014 crowdsale, raising approximately $18.4 million for 60 million ETH at ~$0.31 each. Buyers had no lock-ups; founders received allocations with a 12-month vesting. No venture investments in the protocol itself exist. Since launch, the Ethereum Foundation has distributed grants for ecosystem development through the Ecosystem Support Program. Notable recipients include client teams (Prysm, Teku, Geth), L2 developers (Optimism, Arbitrum), and research groups.

Key Partnerships and Ecosystem

Ethereum serves as the base layer for major financial institutions:
- PayPal launched the PYUSD stablecoin on Ethereum in August 2023 (later expanded to Solana).
- BlackRock deployed the tokenized BUIDL fund on Ethereum in March 2024 (via Securitize, BNY Mellon); by May 2026, its AUM reached ~$2.5 billion.
- Deutsche Bank is developing its own rollup on Ethereum in collaboration with Matter Labs (ZKSync).
- Robinhood launched the USDG stablecoin on Ethereum in November 2024 (partners: Galaxy Digital, Kraken, Paxos).
- WisdomTree and Superstate have issued tokenized treasury funds on Ethereum.

Ecosystem projects: Uniswap (DEX), Aave (lending), Chainlink (oracles), ENS (domains). L2 solutions: Arbitrum, Optimism, Base (by Coinbase), zkSync - use ETH as gas and settlement asset, and publish proofs to the main network. As of early 2026, over $19.4 billion in funds are tokenized on Ethereum - 73% of the entire public blockchain market.

Potential

Technological potential is tied to further scaling: planned Verkle Trees (for Stateless Clients) and single-slot finality (Glamsterdam), increased blob throughput via PeerDAS, as well as the implementation of enshrined Proposer-Builder Separation (ePBS) and transaction inclusion improvement mechanisms. The growth of L2 reduces load on the base layer while maintaining it as a single settlement hub.

Market factors: approval of spot ETH ETFs in the US (July 23, 2024) from BlackRock, Fidelity, Bitwise, VanEck, Invesco Galaxy opened access to institutional investors. Tokenization of traditional assets (RWA) is accelerating: by May 2026, BUIDL accumulated $2.5 billion, and the total volume of tokenized funds on Ethereum exceeded $19 billion. Ethereum dominates DeFi with the highest total value locked (TVL) among all blockchains. Buying ETH provides direct access to the smart contract economy and Web3 infrastructure.

Risks [Identified by Finkonkurs AI Analytics System]

  • Regulatory: In April 2024, the SEC sent a Wells Notice to ConsenSys (MetaMask Swaps/Staking), initiating a lawsuit on April 25, 2024; the investigation into Ethereum 2.0 was closed on June 18, 2024. OFAC sanctions against Tornado Cash (August 2022) affected RPC providers. In the EU, the classification of ETH as a crypto-asset under MiCA came into full effect by July 1, 2026. Uncertainty around staking-as-a-service persists.
  • Technical: Delay of the Glamsterdam upgrade; complexity of coordinating a large number of client teams; potential consensus bugs (historically present in Geth).
  • Tokenomic: During low activity, net issuance remains positive. Competition from high-performance L1s (Solana - 35+ million transactions per day) and native L2s that "cannibalize" L1 fee revenue.
  • Market: In mid-2026, ETH/BTC fell to a 10-month low (0.027); the drawdown from the August 2025 peak was ~66% amid a 17-day outflow from US spot ETFs (ending June 9, 2026).

The all-time high price of ETH is $4,946, reached on Aug 24, 2025. The all-time low was recorded at $0.432979 (Oct 19, 2015). Since the ATH, the price has declined by -61.99%.

What are people's thoughts and sentiments about the project?

Sentiment around Ethereum in mid-2026 is mixed. On one hand, the community is positive about scaling through L2 solutions (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base) and upgrades like Pectra and Fusaka, which reduce fees and improve account abstraction. On the other hand, investors are concerned about the 66% price drop from the August 2025 high, a 17-day outflow from spot ETFs in the US (which ended on June 9, 2026), and the cannibalization of base layer revenue by L2s. Ethereum's reputation as the most reliable settlement layer for DeFi and RWA remains strong, but competition from Solana and the delay of the Glamsterdam upgrade add uncertainty.

Where and how to buy ETH?

ETH can be bought on all major centralized exchanges such as Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, and OKX, where the token is often used as a base currency. On decentralized exchanges like Uniswap, Curve, or Balancer, ETH is the primary routing asset for swaps. ETH is also available on L2 networks (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base), where it serves as the gas token.

How is Ethereum different from other tokens?

Unlike Bitcoin, which is positioned as digital gold with a fixed supply, ETH has no hard supply cap: issuance depends on the number of validators, and the burning of base fees (EIP-1559) can make net issuance negative during high activity. Compared to Solana, which processes over 35 million transactions per day with fees under a cent, Ethereum prioritizes L1 security and decentralization, shifting mass transactions to L2 rollups. This provides higher settlement reliability but creates liquidity fragmentation and UX challenges.
