I just saw that Grayscale owns about 7% of ETC. Grayscale Ethereum Classic Trust (OTCQX: ETCG) details 2025 holdings and NAV. Good sign, I believe.

I just don't see much future for most crypto. ETH has a slim chance but ETC is just a dead coin.
I don't even think people are using Bitcoin's use case even 15+ years on from it's original inception, this was never going to happen for ETC in the short term. It still is a programmable store of value, but who really needs that at the moment???
I know before the last bull run I was hearing everything negative about ETC. I mean from every angle and all of a sudden it shot up. I am banking on ETC to reach new all-time high. At its current price itis practically a steal.
agreed. legacy coins like LTC and ETC will be fine. more and more folks mining as well - I agree we’ll have another all time high at some point. hoarding coins in the meantime and not in any rush to sell. expecting $300 once we hit clarity act.
im down a grand. i dont see it doing anything but flatlining at $7 lol
comes back? lol the 5 year plan with this is dead 😂 looks like the sad end here. nobody wanna play with this doll anymore. all the levels built and it dropped through them all. $30 20 10 9 lol like the 3 stooges through the triple bunk beds. and we are the stooges. cant wait to write up another loss this year (like every year) . at least this venture only cost me 1k loss...only 500 more to go and then itll be 0 value lol. luckily losing 1k isnt gonna hurt me.
Bro you actually predicted it,you think it's dead now or we are in tge other cycle
I was wrong. It is most likely dead. I exited around $20.
Just use a Trezor hardware wallet, the fees are practically $0 to transfer out to your favourite CEX if you want to sell. You get your peace of mind that your assets are offline and in your control.
What isEthereum Classic
OverviewIt is a decentralized blockchain platform for smart contracts that emerged from a hard fork of the main Ethereum network in 2016. The project retained the original blockchain without reversing transactions related to the DAO incident and adheres to the principle of "code is law," implying the immutability of transaction history. The platform supports the development of decentralized applications (dApps) and the issuance of ERC-20 standard tokens.
Ethereum Classic positions itself as a continuation of Ethereum's original vision, where blockchain immutability is the highest value. Unlike the fork that became the main Ethereum network, ETC refused to interfere with history after the DAO hack and does not recognize "social consensus" as a basis for altering the ledger. This makes the platform attractive to proponents of maximum decentralization and censorship resistance.
Context of creation: in July 2016, an attacker exploited a vulnerability in the DAO smart contract and withdrew about 3.6 million ETH. Part of the community voted for a hard fork to return the funds, while another part remained on the old chain, which became known as Ethereum Classic. Since then, both networks have developed independently, with ETC retaining the Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus, while Ethereum switched to Proof-of-Stake.
What Makes It Unique
The main difference is the principled refusal of "rollbacks" and "rescues" of users through history alteration. This makes Ethereum Classic one of the most "conservative" blockchain platforms, where every confirmed block is considered final. Additionally, ETC remains one of the largest PoW networks supporting smart contracts.
Features of Ethereum Classic
Technical Information
The network operates on the Ethash consensus algorithm (Proof-of-Work). Blocks are created on average every 13-14 seconds. Block size is dynamic, limited by gas. Ethereum Classic has undergone a series of upgrades: Thanos (improving mining efficiency), Magneto (partial compatibility with EIP-1559), Spiral (difficulty adjustment). The protocol supports the EVM virtual machine, fully compatible with Ethereum, simplifying dApp migration between networks.
Tokenomics
The native coin ETC is used to pay transaction fees and smart contract computations. The emission is not fixed: the block reward gradually decreases (currently about 2.048 ETC per block). Every 5 million blocks, a "halving" of the reward occurs (the last one was in 2024). The total maximum supply is approximately 210-220 million coins, with the exact value depending on the duration of network maintenance. Distribution occurs exclusively through mining; there was no pre-sale or team allocation - all coins were distributed at the start among Ethereum holders before the fork.
Security of ETC
The project's history includes the DAO incident in 2016, which led to the split. The Ethereum Classic network itself has been subject to 51% attacks multiple times: the most serious episodes occurred in January 2019 (over $700,000 in damages) and August 2020 (repeated block reorganizations). In response, developers implemented a difficulty adjustment algorithm (Thanos) and called on mining pools to increase the hashrate. Later, the network was secured through increased mining and a higher threshold of required computational power. Specialized security audits of smart contracts on ETC are conducted by the same firms as for Ethereum (e.g., OpenZeppelin, Trail of Bits), but specific audit results for the platform itself are not indicated in the notes.
Which Exchanges It Is Traded On

Investors and Funds
Data on investors and funds is not provided. Ethereum Classic did not attract external financing through traditional rounds - the coin was distributed via a chain fork, without a pre-sale.
Key Partnerships and Ecosystem
Specific partnerships are not indicated in the notes. It is known that the ETC ecosystem includes a number of decentralized applications, exchanges, and games, but the scale is significantly smaller than Ethereum. Some projects launched on the main Ethereum network deploy copies of their smart contracts on ETC (via standard bridges).
Potential
Ethereum Classic remains one of the few PoW networks supporting full smart contract execution. After Ethereum's transition to Proof-of-Stake, ETC attracted some miners, increasing hashrate and security. Potentially, the project could serve as a "backup" platform for dApps that value immutability and censorship resistance. The factor of limited supply and regular halvings create deflationary pressure in the long term.
Risks [Identified by Finkonkurs AI Analytics System]
Technical risks: the history of 51% attacks shows vulnerability at low hashrate. Although the situation has improved, a recurrence cannot be completely ruled out. Lack of native support for Layer 2 (L2) solutions compared to Ethereum.
Regulatory risks: specific lawsuits or regulatory actions against ETC are not mentioned in the notes. However, as a PoW asset, it may be subject to general restrictions on mining (e.g., in regions with bans on energy-intensive algorithms).
Competitive pressure: the main ETH network continues to dominate in terms of dApp volume and total value locked. Other PoW platforms (e.g., Bitcoin without smart contracts) occupy the digital gold niche, while ETC is in an intermediate position.
Related Individuals
Specific names of developers or founders are not indicated in the notes. Ethereum Classic is governed by a decentralized community, with no formal legal entity issuer. Among known supporters are former Ethereum participants who adhered to the principle of immutability (e.g., Charles Hoskinson in the early stages, later focused on Cardano). Information about the education and other projects of team members is not provided. The team also includes anonymous or little-known developers contributing through open-source code.
